Jenn Edgar & Nik Paget-Thomson
Jen Edgar is a theatre artist whose work consists of making theatre and creative experiences with and for people of all ages. She is a facilitator, deviser and performer, with her work heavily rooted in collaboration.
Nik Paget-Tomlinson is a musician, composer and sound designer. From 2012 – 2014 Nik was artist in residence with Starcatchers, during which time he created the interactive sound installation Sonic Playground and the theatre piece Too Many Cooks.
Following on from the huge success of the Starcatchers Inspire project, The Playground was a new initiative which embedded the Starcatchers residency model into two communities, Barrhead in East Renfrewshire and Hamilton in South Lanarkshire.
In partnership with Renfrewshire Council and South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture two artists were selected to work in these communities, engaging with very young children in nurseries and community centres to explore, play and create experiences for this age range and their carers. To conclude the project, both artists produced a performance which was shared in the local community.
Starcatchers also carried out an evaluation on the project which was supported by Dr Sarah Morton, from the Centre for Research on Families and Relationships.
