We’re absolutely delighted that Hup has been successful in securing funding from Made in Scotland to perform at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
We will be presenting Hup in association with the RSNO and Pleasance Kids at the EICC in Edinburgh between 11 – 28 August, we are very excited to be bringing this five star production to the largest arts festival in the world and to showcase high-quality Scottish-made theatrical experiences for the very young.
Hup was developed during a residency project called Nickum in 2013/14 which took place in two nurseries in Aberdeen over a period of 6 months. Two artists, Composer and Musician Abigail Sinar and Theatre Maker Hazel Darwin-Edwards spent 6 months exploring with babies under 2 responses to classical music and theatre. At the end of the residency Hazel and Abigail created a work in progress which in 2015 became the production we have today.
Made in Scotland is a curated showcase of high quality performance from Scotland at the world’s biggest arts festival, made possible by support from the Scottish Government’s Edinburgh Festivals Expo Fund. It is a partnership between the Festival Fringe Society, the Federation of Scottish Theatre (FST) Scottish Music Centre and Creative Scotland.
