Katy Wilson likes to create new worlds and environments for people to feel good, relaxed and inspired in – often sophisticated and far from conventional baby friendly spaces – she likes to shake things up. Katy created Starcatchers’ creative play space for babies 0-24 months and their adults, Blue Block Studio, and also delivers the Expecting Something project for young parents and their babies under 2.
Together with Ewan Sinclair and Dougal Marwick, Katy Wilson created a visual art and sound installation for babies and toddlers aged 0-2 and their families as part of the Inspire Project.
Families entered a magical world of colourful, dancing projections underscored with tinkly electronic music. Given space to explore and play, the children were free to let the environment spark their imaginations.
This was an environment with no instructions and was specially designed as a space for adult and child to explore together.
Multicoloured Blocks from Space and Ice Pole became inspiration for what turned into the future BLUE BLOCK STUDIO.
